Plenary Session 2: Dispute Resolution Mechanisms in the Petroleum Sector: Strengthening Mediation, Arbitration, and Legislative Oversight

This session will explore the urgent need to institutionalize robust, transparent, and impartial dispute resolution frameworks that can pre-empt industrial disruptions and foster investor confidence. It will examine the roles of mediation and arbitration in resolving labour and commercial conflicts, while also evaluating how legislative oversight can reinforce accountability, fairness, and sectoral stability. The goal is to chart a path toward sustainable conflict management that aligns with Nigeria’s energy security and economic development objectives.
